Review of Devialet India Phantom Reactor speakers

Devialet, the France-based luxury audio brand, has two new models to offer. The models are Reactor Phantom and they come in Phantom 600 and Phantom 900 variants.

The Devialet India has Phantom 600 at the cost of Rs 1,09,000 and the Phantom 900 costs Rs 1,29,000. These models could look expensive at first instance but the technology and features of these speakers make them worthwhile.

Build

Design of the Phantom Reactor speaker 600 that happens to be the sixth member of the Phantom family looks like straight out of the box. The miniature size and design make it look like a kitten. And it won’t be an exaggeration to say that there’s hardly a speaker of the size and design of Phantom.

Features

It is small in design but in technology, it is massive. The Phantom 600 produces 600W of power that translated into 95dB sound pressure level (SPL) and this sound is similar to the noise produced by a 100cc motorbike at close range. Similarly, Phantom 900 also delivers high output without distortions as found in other speakers.

Sound

The sound produced by both the speakers is crisp and clear. It’s a scale of delivery that is difficult to expect from speakers like Phantom models. The sound is precise. You can call it uncluttered and it easily fills the room. And the most prominent speaker sound is bass. It is more impressive in sound levels.

Claims

The manufacturer claims that the design, features, functionality and technology to be unique and different. And it is difficult to understand how speakers of size 22x17 cm produce great sound that is a challenge for other models in market. Phantom models can produce sound from 18Hz to 21kHz frequency. Also, they can easily be configured to solo or stereo mode.

Technology

Devialet India claims to use the latest in acoustic technology in its speakers. For example, the Phantom models pack Speaker Active Matching (SAM) technology. It is only with SAM that users get perfect control of the features of the speakers. Similarly, Phantom models have Active Cospherical Engine (ACE) that takes acoustics of the speakers to the next level. Additionally, the Phantom models pack Analog Digital Hybrid (ADH) and Heart Bass Impolsion (HBI) technology.

Conclusion

Reactor speaker is the best in its class. Also, it comes with a dedicated Devialet app. Also, the users can take advantage of AirPlay, Bluetooth and UPnP technology to connect their speakers.
